WCEF 2024 Accelerator Session: Circular Food Systems: Enabling Policies and Business Cases
This event is now full.
This event/webinar/workshop is an accelerator session at the World Circular Economy Forum 2024 (www.wcef2024.com).
At the World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF24) in Brussels, WRI (Circular Food Systems for Rwanda) in collaboration with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) co-organized an insightful accelerator session entitled "Circular Food Systems: Enabling policies and business cases."
The session highlighted the importance of circularity in improving resource efficiency, promoting regenerative farming, and reducing food waste. The need for holistic, nature-positive approaches powered by clean renewable energy was a central theme. Discussions focused on the critical role of policy frameworks and business models that support circularity. The session featured perspectives from small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and explored the challenges and opportunities in implementing circular practices on the ground. It also underscored the need for cross-border collaboration, financial support for SMEs, and improved education on circularity principles. By fostering knowledge exchange and public-private partnerships, the event aimed to drive the global shift toward sustainable, circular agri-food systems. The insights shared during this session demonstrated how localized circular practices can set the foundation for broader systemic change, benefiting both economies and communities.
